3,7kW Methanol Fuel Cell
Next Generation Machinery has developed a generator based on existing technology in which the energy is supplied in the form of methanol as a sustainable energy carrier. This fits in with our mission to develop an affordable, clean and practical alternative to diesel as an energy source for heavy machinery. With our background as equipment developers, we have traditionally been an integrator of existing technology, in which we have proven to be able to realize unique – first time right – functional designs.
From the prototype of our “blue box”, we gained a lot of practical experience with this technology. Based on this experience we have designed systems based on the same technology for various customers and integrated it into their specific application. We have also taken the lessons learned into the development of our 100kW methanol fuel cell.

Methanol Fuel Cell functionality
Energy at the touch of a button
The generator has a clear user interface that enables the installation at the touch of a button. Power is immediately available from the internal battery pack, so the work can be started immediately! The reformer and fuel cell are preheated at the same time. As soon as the fuel cell is at working temperature, the battery pack is recharged.
Werking NGM Fuel Cell Generator
Green methanol (Bio- and/or E-methanol) is converted into a hydrogen-rich gas in a so-called reformer. This gas mixture is converted into water vapor and a DC current in a fuel cell, which is immediately available at the outlet. It also recharges the internal battery pack. The direct current generated by this can be used directly as DC charging current or, for example, converted into 3-phase 400V three-phase power current by means of inverters.
Flexibility
By stacking the number of fuel cells, increasing the capacity of the battery pack and/or the inverters, much more power can be delivered in a short period of time. We are happy to help you make an inventory of your project and provide advice without obligation regarding an optimal system choice that meets the expected energy needs.
